So our SVP found a local bakery that makes Czech pastries and brought in a dozen of them for us. A contractor got two pizzas from a New York style deli he also works for. Someone brought in fruit, someone brought in vegetables, someone brought in banana bread, someone brought in a cake (PLUS the birthday cake we have for my manager), someone made rotel, and we have a bunch of crackers with cheese and sausage. It’s a disgusting amount of food, but it gives everyone a reason to break away from their work every once in a while, which they need so much. Plus our old SVP just called in and checked in to see how everything was going and wanted to make sure she got to say goodbye to me (since she was the one who got me the job, it seems cyclical). Then tomorrow is my co-worker’s retirement party, which will undoubtedly end in everyone collapsing into a big old pile of tears, and Friday is my last day.
This is going to be the most emotionally draining week of my life, I think.
